When you sell the most popular car in Canada for 18 years straight, you have to be careful when redesigning it. Luckily, Honda did an amazing job with the brand new 2016 Honda Civic, and no question you will continue to see a lot of them in and around Sudbury. Now safer, more powerful and more fuel-efficient, the 2016 Honda Civic is the car you have been waiting for.

The Honda Civic has always been known for its reliability and overall balance. Those two elements are still present in the all-new 10th generation, but now you also get a more powerful engine as well as a new turbocharged powerplant which, although more powerful, remains fuel-efficient. Starting at $ 16,155, the 2016 Honda Civic gets a base 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine which can be paired to either a six-speed manual transmission, or a continuously variable automatic transmission. With the latter, the 2016 Civic averages 6.9 liters per 100 kilometers on the highway.

The big news, however, is the new turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 174 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. Combined with a continuously variable automatic transmission, this engine is not only quick to react and powerful at any speed, it is also very economical with an average fuel economy rating of 6.7 liters per 100 kilometers on the highway. Yes, even with the extra power, it requires less fuel than the base engine.
