The 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback will be powered exclusively by the Civic lineup’s new 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that delivers 174 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. In the Sport and Sport Touring models, the Civic Hatchback will feature the same engine, but output is increased to 180 horsepower.
A six-speed manual transmission will be standard while a continuously variable automatic transmission will be optional. Regardless of which transmission you choose, fuel economy will be impressive. Indeed, the new Civic Hatchback will have an average fuel economy rating of 7.7 liters per 100 kilometers in the city and 6.0 liters per 100 kilometers on the highway.
Along with plenty of power and impressive fuel economy, the 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback also features plenty of interior space. The rear cargo area can hold 727 liters with all seats in place, and the interior has a total of 2,752 liters of space.
