Have You Seen The New 2015 Honda CR-V?
With the 2015 model, consumers get even more as the CR-V gets a refreshed exterior and interior, a new powertrain, advanced features, and a new SE trim level. The Honda CR-V was already a segment-leader, but the improvements made by Honda to the 2015 edition are notable, and even if has just arrived on the market, the CR-V has already been named the Motor Trend Utility vehicle of the year, quite an honor for a model that has just been refreshed.
The new 2015 Honda CR-V is jazzing things up with slick new styling that gives the vehicle more presence on the outside, and more personality on the inside. The changes continue for the new model year with a new Earth Dreams Technology engine and Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), and new Honda Sensing safety and driver assist features. The 2015 Honda CR-V is now more appealing than ever.
Equipped with a newer and lighter engine, the 2.4-litre 4-cylinder includes a more efficient direct-injection system, and overall generates a total output of 185 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque. The latter gains 11percent more torque over the previous model.
The engine is also coupled to a more fuel-efficient and seamless CVT transmission as opposed to the previous 5-speed automatic. Buyers will also be pleased to note that front-wheel drive is only standard on the base model now, which means that Honda’s all-wheel drive system is available on the LX, and standard on all other models in the CR-V lineup.
Consumers with an eye on the new 2015 CR-V can expect car-like handling and maneuverability from the SUV. And with an updated suspension design and motion-adaptive electric power steering, buyers can anticipate more of that solid and quality driving experience we have come to expect from the CR-V model.
As for fuel economy, the 2015 CR-V FWD version has a rating of 8.6/6.9 litres per 100 kilometres (city/highway). The 8.6 L/110km city rating is an improvement over the previous model year rating, and with AWD, the CR-V offers an improved 7.2 L/100km highway rating.
Finally, in terms of safety, the 2015 Honda CR-V has gathered all its advanced safety and driver assistive features into one group: the Honda Sensing suite. Available elements include Forward Collision Warning, a Collision Mitigation Braking System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Departure Warning, and Honda LaneWatch (blind spot display). In addition to these features, buyers may also consider Honda’s automatic emergency response and navigation system, and a multi-angle rearview camera.
Aside from all these new additions to the 2015 model, a push button start, driver’s power seat and seat memory, heated front seats, leather-trimmed seating surfaces, satellite radio and Siri Eyes Free are offered, depending on the model.
With the CR-V, buyers can fold the rear seats down with a 60/40 split to further increase cargo volume, and those interested in the SUV can opt for an available power tailgate. Also, thanks to a low cargo floor and wide-open rear doors, getting stuff in and out of the SUV is easier than you may think.
Honda’s 2015 CR-V continues to provide buyers with a top choice for a family-friendly compact crossover SUV. In addition to the new powertrain, improved efficiency, styling, and new features, the CR-V continues to provide a comfortable and spacious interior, and the versatility to accommodate a range of objects.
