Standard Performance Specs
The standard engine on all Honda Pilot SUVs is a 3.5L V6 that puts out a capable 280 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque. You’ll have a choice between front-wheel and all-wheel drive. The base engine on the Toyota Highlander is a 2.5L 4-cylinder that’s only good for 185 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque. You can also upgrade to a 3.5L V6 engine, but at extra cost.
Passenger and Cargo Space
The Honda Pilot comes with an enormous total interior volume of 4,820 litres and a standard seating capacity of eight passengers. On top of that, you’ll get 467 litres of cargo space in back and a max cargo volume of 2,376 litres. The Toyota Highlander only has a total interior volume of 4,423 litres and a standard seating for seven passengers. There’s also just 391 litres of cargo space in back, and cargo volume tops out at 2,356 litres.
